About VGO

VGO is the machine-world visibility governance system. It starts with real user needs and high-value intent, and systematically grows effective, trusted, and sustainable visibility across search, generative AI, and emerging discovery surfaces.

It was initiated by Omseek in 2026 and is maintained in public. Documentation may be reused with attribution. Brand rights remain separate.

V1.0 is published as the system specification in early commercial practice; the earlier v1.0.0-draft remains a historical snapshot. Early materials were published under a methodology label; the primary identity is now the visibility governance system.

Why this work exists

Discovery is no longer concentrated in one search box. People and machines now find organizations through search results, generated answers, citations, assistants, and other interfaces.

Optimizing each surface on its own fragments strategy and measurement. VGO provides a shared layer for how an entity is discovered, understood, cited, represented, and trusted over time.

The north star is Grow More Effective Visibility — not more visibility, but more effective visibility.

How the system is maintained

The versioned source of record is the public GitHub repository. Proposals, research, corrections, and extensions are welcome through Issues and Pull Requests.

Maintainers remain responsible for release coherence, definitions, governance, and system integrity. A contribution does not imply automatic acceptance.

The system and Omseek

VGO is the machine-world visibility governance system. Omseek is its initiator, founding maintainer, and an implementation platform.

The open system is intentionally distinguishable from any specific Omseek product. Proprietary product behavior is not a universal VGO requirement.
